Ice Ice Baby

I apologize for revisiting “Sir” Vanilla and his seminal “musical” score…

Anyway, less talk and more images. Here are two more images from Sunday’s trip “down south” to the Kenai Peninsula.

  1. The second is a wonderful abstract that makes even a Mainer like me shiver, but the first is pure art. The detailed foreground bubbles in the ice lead to an impressive and grand landscape. Nice work!

Thanks for the kind words David, very much appreciated. I plan on returning to these lakes next chance I get, I’d like to get comps even closer to the bubbles in the foreground. Take care & keep in touch.

Oh I love bubbles like you found in that first one… so beautiful! I hope you got an abstract of the bottom half – for me the mountains and sky aren’t really necessary, as they don’t match the total awesomeness of the bubbles!

Hey Floris, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I agree that the mountains and sky don’t add a whole lot to the image – it was more of a “proof of concept” shot:) I’m hoping to find more comps that include the mountains along with nice sky color/drama at sunrise or set.
I did get some comps of just the bubbles, but there is so much going on, I think it’s almost too busy with all the bubbles trapped in the ice. I’m hoping to get back down there again this weekend, if the weather looks decent.
Thanks again. By the way, LOVE your recent post – especially that image “Apoptosis”. It’s exquisite.
